- Mandatory Service: Emirates ID is compulsory for UAE nationals, GCC nationals, expatriates, and residents of the UAE.
- Valid Residence Permit: A valid residence permit is a prerequisite for residents applying for an ID card.
Conditions for Obtaining the Service
- Complete Requirements: Customers must complete all required steps, including fingerprinting and photo submission, within the specified timeframe to avoid application cancellation.
- Follow Instructions: Adherence to all instructions and requirements provided during the application process is crucial to prevent cancellation.
Service Limitations & Special Cases
- Residents: The issuance of the Emirates ID card is directly linked and processed concurrently with the residence permit issuance through a unified application form.
- Newborn Citizens: Eligible for the streamlined “Mabrouk Mabrouk” package, which combines birth registration and ID issuance.
- GCC Nationals: Must provide verifiable proof of residency in the UAE, such as property ownership (not rental agreements), significant investment, employment, or enrollment in an educational institution. Eligibility for relatives extends only up to the first degree.
- 10-Year ID Card: This long-term validity option is currently not available for UAE citizens aged between 5 and 14 years.
