Emirates ID Services in Sharjah — New, Renewal & Replacement

Al Qalam Typing Centre in Sharjah types and submits Emirates ID applications to the ICP — new cards, renewals, replacements for lost or damaged cards, and data updates. Bring your passport and residency details; we prepare the application, check it for errors that cause rejections, and submit it to the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs & Port Security (ICP). Final approval and card issuance rest with ICP.

Documents required

How it works

  1. Visit our Sharjah centre or send your documents on WhatsApp.
  2. We type, verify and submit your ICP application — most applications are typed in under 15 minutes.
  3. If you are 15 or older and biometrics are required, ICP will direct you to a fingerprinting centre — we tell you exactly where to go.
  4. ICP processes the card (standard processing is about 5 working days) and Emirates Post delivers it to your chosen post office.

Frequently asked questions

How long does Emirates ID renewal take?

ICP’s standard processing time is about 5 working days after submission and biometrics (if required). Urgent (Fawri) issuance is available for eligible categories at ICP Customer Happiness Centres.

What happens if my Emirates ID expired months ago?

A late fine of AED 20 per day starts one month after expiry, capped at AED 1,000. If your residency also expired, you may need visa renewal first — see our residence visa renewal in Sharjah guide, or ask us to check your file.

Can I renew my Emirates ID before it expires?

Renewal applications are accepted when the card is within its renewal window or expired; for residents the new card follows your residency validity. We check your specific case before typing.

I lost my Emirates ID — what do I do?

Report the lost card and apply for a replacement. ICP’s replacement fee is separate from renewal fees, and the reissued card keeps your existing validity. Bring your passport; we handle the application the same day.

Do you handle Emirates ID for family members?

Yes — new IDs for spouses and children are typed together with family visa applications, and we track each application until the card is delivered.
