In 2014, Sharjah’s visionary leader, His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al-Qasimi, established the Sharjah Roads and Transport Authority (SRTA) through Decree No. 6 of 2014. This move was driven by the need to keep pace with Sharjah’s rapid development and growth.
SRTA’s Mission:
Since its inception, SRTA has been dedicated to supporting the government’s goals and aligning with His Highness’s vision for Sharjah. SRTA has a multifaceted mission, including:

Promoting Public Transportation: Actively encouraging the use of public transportation and expanding the modern road network with state-of-the-art traffic systems following international standards.
Infrastructure Management: Overseeing road and construction projects, from planning and design to construction and maintenance. Safety, security, and environmental compatibility are paramount considerations.
