The UAE authorities have announced a two-month grace period starting September 1, during which residence visa violators can have their fines waived. This initiative, in accordance with the Federal Law on the Entry and Residency of Foreigners, aims to provide violators an opportunity to regularize their status or leave the country without incurring financial penalties.
The Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs, and Port Security (ICP) stated that this decision reflects the UAE’s values of compassion and tolerance. The ICP will implement all necessary measures to ensure the smooth execution of this initiative, including waiving fines and legal consequences.
